BACKGROUND

Prior to meeting the Mighty Nein, Caduceus lived with his family at the sanctuary-like graveyard of the Blooming Grove. Located within the depths of the Savalirwood, it was known by those of Shadycreek Run to the southeast as the Bone Orchard. Predating Shadycreek Run, and surrounded by the cursed blighted woods, the old stone church that stood there was surrounded by three consecutive rings of rusted fence built to hold back the continually encroaching razor-like grey-purple thorn vines.

At some point, the rest of the Clay family left in search of ways to stop the creeping corruption. That left Caduceus alone to tend the Blooming Grove. When the Mighty Nein stumble into his life, he helps them get their friends back from the Iron Shepherds. He admits to the Nein that he has been waiting for people to come along that he can leave with and he is eager to join them. He already had his things packed.



PERSONALITY

Caduceus is jovial and dedicated. Long after his family left the Blooming Grove, he remained to ensure that the graves of the departed remained undisturbed while cultivating the plants that grew from those interred there. Kind and welcoming, he offered The Mighty Nein tea before they even introduced themselves. Caduceus often finds something positive to say about situations that others see as all negative.

Caduceus is often blunt, sometimes humorously so. He rarely hides his opinions and he's straightforward in the way he deals with other people. He doesn't always follow some of the more complex conversations that happen, but that never really bothers him. He tends to forget things that aren't particularly important.

While his intelligence is low compared to the rest of the group, Caduceus is deeply insightful. He often acts as a sounding board and kind ear for the troubles of the group. He considers it his job to comfort the group and take care of them. He is quick to make tea and food to give to others as a way of comfort. Caduceus is best known for his remarkable perception.

Though usually laid back and light-hearted, Caduceus can be darkly protective, going so far as to offer to kill Caleb's former instructor and tormentor.

Caduceus is asexual and aromantic, having stated that he has no interest in pursuing a romantic relationship.

Caduceus is canonically aromantic and asexual; however, he is not sex-repulsed and should things end up going in this direction, here are some handy things to note. He is a firbolg and is roughly seven feet tall, so his genitalia is going to be proportionate and possibly unique. He doesn't have any known experience with sex and so while he will probably have no idea what he's doing, he's pretty intuitive, good at reading people, and open to taking direction.

He is not interested in pursuing romantic relationships.
